LEP stands for Licensed Educational Psychologist. In California, LEPs are licensed mental health professionals who specialize in learning, behavior, and emotional well-being as they relate to educational and vocational settings. We work with children, teens, and young adults to support academic success, career readiness, and overall mental health.
LEPs are governed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), the same licensing board that oversees LMFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs.
I bring both personal and professional insight to this work. As someone who understands learning differences from the inside out, I approach every consultation, counseling session, and evaluation through a strengths-based, culturally-affirming lens. I’m not just looking at what’s challenging, I’m focused on what’s working and how we build from there.
This isn’t just language I use, it’s how I practice. I use actual strengths-based assessment tools to capture what makes each student unique, not just general observations.
My cultural humility comes from specialized training dedicated to supporting BIPOC communities by highlighting resilience, not deficits, an approach I bring to professional conferences, published work, and my everyday practice.
As a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and lifelong learner with experience across schools, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health centers, I know how to navigate complex systems and translate that into clarity and confidence for families.
My goal is to help you feel empowered, your student feel seen, and your family move forward with strategies that actually work.
I work with school-aged children and teens (ages 5-17), young adults (ages 18–25), and college students, all located in California.
I provide consultation services to parents, educators, and other professionals.
My specialties include: Supporting those navigating learning differences, such as Dyslexia, ADHD, or Autism, and/or emotional challenges, managing stress, anxiety, or perfectionism behaviors that impact school or vocational success.
At this time, I offer counseling and consultation virtually for clients located in California, with evening and weekend availability.
In-person evaluation services may become available in San Diego, CA in the future.
At this time, I only accept private payment (no insurance). However, I can provide a superbill after your first intake appointment that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Disclaimer (CA Law): K-12 students may also be eligible to receive counseling or evaluation services for free through their public school. If you have questions about this option, please ask during our consultation.
The consultation is a 15–20-minute call where we get to know each other and see if working together feels like a good fit.
You’re welcome to ask me questions about availability, scope of practice, or my experience, and share any specific goals.
If we agree that we’re a good fit during the free consultation call, I’ll send you a link to complete intake paperwork through a secure Electronic Health Records (EHR) client portal.
Once paperwork is completed, you’ll be able to schedule your first appointment.
